The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has opened online applications for buyers and sellers wishing to attend the Thailand Travel Mart Plus (TTM+) Amazing Gateway to the Greater Mekong Subregion 2020.This year, the theme of the “New Shades of Emerging Destinations”, is designed to encourage visitors to explore the new shades of Thailand in the 55 provinces identified as emerging destinations or the “hidden gems” throughout the country.The three-day event is held under the 'New Shades of Emerging Destinations' theme and focuses on promoting emerging tourist destinations across the country in order to create new jobs in the tourism sector and distribute revenue nationwide instead of concentrating it in the major tourist centres and cities, allowing local communities to benefit from tourism, too.The event is held in the Ocean Marina Yacht Club, south of the city. It is the biggest marina in Southeast Asia, and it is the second consecutive year the Ocean Marina hosts Travel Mart.
Most sellers represent hotels and resorts. What Does TAT Have Planned for Thailand Travel Mart (TTM+) ?
The event, which is also aimed at showcasing tourism in the Greater Mekong region, including Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and southern China, was attended by 423 buyers from 56 countries in 2017, who met with 362 sellers.Thailand’s biggest travel trade show, the Thailand Travel Mart (TTM+), has ended a two-year run in Chiang Mai and will move to the resort city of Pattaya in 2018.Although the main markets of China, India, Russia, Europe, and the UK dominated the list, organizers reported an increased number of buyers from Eastern Europe, Latin America, and South Africa.
